I am recently offered a complete specimen set of 1957 Animal in UNC.
It is a temptation but the price is quite a lot for me
A friend told me that I can collect separately, that way it will be a less burden on my financial.
Starting with smaller nominal Rp 5, 50, 100 then Rp 500, 1000 and 2500, followed by the unissued Rp 10, 25 and 500 (these 3 are the most expensive).
Is it a good idea to buy separately?

Hello Nana, start buying the unissued ones, 10, 25 and 500 rp as mentionned, if you obtain the unissued expensive ones at first, then it is much more easy getting the rest of the banknotes in due time.

leon voorn : Sorry, I forgot to write it but the price for whole set is about US $13000.
grivnagozer : You are right. Rp 10, 25, 500 are harder to find and much more expensive than the other 6 notes.
If I buy those 3 notes, I can take my time buying the rest.

I got the same suggestion from a friend too but my seller wants to sell them as a set not separately.
Hopefully, my seller can be persuaded.

If your seller is a very wise man, he shall place the other notes in reserve until you come with the rest of the amount. Naturally, from his point of view, he has a good point by stating that the whole bunch is more difficult to sell without the unissued banknotes, because to him it seems to be that every banknotecollector in the entire world has these notes already in possession. It's been a few months since I visit this site. Sorry about that. [tab=1]grivnagozer: The seller did not want to split the set and it was sold to another buyer.
But I did manage to buy the 3 unissued notes from a different seller.
So I'm happy about this
