The app Euro Munt Verzameling, for iPhone and iPod touch, has been updated to version 1.4.
At the same time, Euro Munt Verzameling HD, optimized for iPad, has been released.
Both apps now include all the 29 2-Euro commemorative coins issued in 2012, with quality images and descriptions in 7 languages.
New special mini-albums have been added to manage german and greek mintmarks, a feature highly requested by collectors.
Retina display support has been added to the iPhone version, while both apps can now rely upon iCloud services to keep collection data safe and synched.
Also, a new notification center – powered by AppsFire, allow users to get the latest news about the app and their collecting hobby, as well as send feedback directly to the developer.
Other updated features include an option to show the total face value of coins, Spain second series coins issued since 2010 and the ability to save or restore the collection file from iTunes, in the documents sharing section.
Each coin design tells a story about key historical people, events or places of the Euro-area: from the Braille writing system invented by Louis Braille to the Don Quixote by Cervantes; from the Neuschwanstein Castle to the battle of Marathon.
Teachers and educators are especially encouraged to get in touch with the developer to get the app for free and evaluate its educational potential.
